Complimentary Tickets
Learn how to generate free complimentary tickets for VIPs, staff, press, and guests from your event management screen on Streets.
Complimentary tickets let you generate free tickets for VIPs, staff, press, sponsors, performers, and other guests - without requiring payment. Each comp ticket generates a unique code or link that bypasses checkout, making it easy to get the right people through the door.
Overview
As an event organizer, you can issue complimentary tickets directly from your event management screen. Complimentary orders do not go through payment processing - recipients claim their tickets at no cost.
Complimentary tickets are useful for:
- Press and media - Provide access for journalists and content creators covering your event
- Sponsors and partners - Fulfill ticket commitments included in sponsorship packages
- Performers and talent - Issue guest list spots for artists, DJs, or speakers
- Staff and volunteers - Give your team entry without purchasing tickets
- VIPs and special guests - Reward loyal supporters or industry contacts with complimentary access
When you create a complimentary order, Streets generates ticket codes that bypass payment. You can share a link for the recipient to claim, or send tickets directly to a Streets user by their Streets iD.
Unclaimed complimentary tickets are not counted in your order totals or check-in counts until a recipient claims them. You can void unclaimed comp tickets from your guest list at any time.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the Streets App and go to Settings > My Events
- Tap the event you want to issue comp tickets for to open the Manage screen
- Tap the gift card icon in the top navigation bar to start a complimentary order
- Select the ticket tier and quantity you want to issue
- Choose how to deliver the tickets:
- Share Link - Generate a unique invite link you can send via text, email, or any messaging app
- Send to User - Search for a recipient by their Streets iD and send the ticket directly in the app
- Confirm the complimentary order
- Share the link or notify the recipient - they'll receive the ticket without going through payment

Collaborator Access
You can allow team members to issue complimentary tickets on your behalf. When adding or editing a collaborator, enable the Issue Complimentary Tickets permission.
Collaborators with this permission can access the complimentary ticket flow from the event management screen via the collaborator actions menu. See our Collaborators guide for details on setting up team permissions.

Managing Complimentary Orders
All complimentary orders appear in your event guest list alongside paid orders. From the management screen you can:
- Filter your guest list to show only complimentary orders
- See which comp tickets have been claimed and which are still unassigned
- Void unclaimed complimentary tickets if they're no longer needed
- Check in recipients when they arrive at the door
Complimentary tickets do not affect your revenue totals. They are tracked separately in your order breakdown so you can distinguish comp passes from paid sales.
Tips
When issuing tickets to press, sponsors, or guests who may not be on Streets yet, use Share Link. They can claim the ticket after downloading the app or via the web link.
If the recipient already has a Streets account, use Send to User and search by their Streets iD. The ticket appears in their account immediately.
Clean up your guest list by voiding complimentary tickets that were never claimed. Swipe on an unclaimed comp order in your guest list and tap Void.
- Issue comp tickets after your event has at least one ticket tier configured
- Keep a list of who you've sent comps to - use the guest list filter to audit outstanding unclaimed tickets
- You cannot send a complimentary ticket to yourself or to the event organizer account
